A Message from the Rosado Family
We lost our son and our brother. And the world lost a vibrant young man in the prime of his life who had so much to offer.
We did everything humanly possible to keep him with us as he struggled with mental illness. Doctors, medication, hospitalization, love – so much love – but it wasn’t enough. Matías took his life on July 17, 2021.
As we wrestle with our own grief and how to make sense out of something so senseless, we know one fundamental truth. Matías Enríque Rosado is so much more than the day he died. For 19 years we were lucky enough to benefit from his immense kindness, his generous smile, his sense of humor and his love. Now, we are committed to carrying that forward as part of Matías’ legacy.
The Matías Rosado Foundation (MRF) is committed to raising awareness about the youth mental health crisis. More specifically, we believe there is an important connection between emotional health and overall physical wellness. Together, we can save lives through education, advocacy and most of all, support.
The MRF is a work in progress and our journey is just beginning. And we thank you for being a part of it. Your support makes all the difference.
